Carrie Scarton knew as a high senior she wanted to be a nurse. After nursing school
she worked as a critical care nurse for ten years, but she always had a desire for more involvement in the total care of her patients. She was very proud to be a nurse but decided to advance her career and expand her scope of practice. Carrie successfully completed her training and became a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner in April
1997.
Family Practice was most appealing to Carrie because of the broad spectrum of age range, treating patients from Pediatrics to Geriatrics. Carrie also has a special interest in women’s health issues and has been involved in research on Fibromyalgia in the past.
Away from medicine Carrie enjoys silk flower arranging, reading, biking and anything
to do with water. She also spends as much time as possible with her children, her grandson and her two cats and two dogs.
