For our patients that need hospitalization, Premier has an experienced team of hospitalists caring for those patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This is an innovative advancement in patient care where there is a “temporary” handoff from our primary care doctors to the hospitalist team.
Hospitalists provide round-the-clock care and greater communication to patients and family members. As part of Premier’s collaborative approach to care, our hospitalists actively communicate with primary care and any needed specialists during an inpatient stay. They have ready access to patients’ “live” electronic health record. This ready access to a patients’ condition, recent test results and progress across the entire day allows the hospitalist to administer the most appropriate care.
Our program provides patients a higher standard of care, which often results in shorter hospital stays and fewer readmissions.
